The Prophet Muhammad

First, you must specify that the word "prophet" is not equivalent to the word "prophet," though accurate prediction is one of the hallmarks of a true prophet. The Prophet - is someone who, being called by God Himself, said prophesies in His name that He has commanded, ie, is the herald of God. He can talk about the past and the present, and future.
It should be noted that any belief in the Prophet based on the conviction of his religious feeling, a desire for truth and belief in God truthfully signs of His Prophet or Messenger. Efficiently, using only the arguments of reason to prove any faith in the prophet, as well as faith in God Himself, in principle, impossible, for the reason - not the highest ability. Above reason, combining intellect with faith and feelings and giving people the integrity of knowledge.
However, the sensual conviction, faith, must not contradict the laws of reason, because these laws are also given by the Creator as a way of thinking, learning and communication. Thus, a person's belief may be rationally supported by the data of sense, logical evidence, knowledge of the universe. The more people may simply must use it all in the preaching of those who are on their way to faith.
With regard to rational argument in favor of Muhammad's prophethood, then we can formulate several arguments.
1. Muhammad is not a random person in the Abrahamic monotheistic religions, he is a descendant of Abraham, of Ishmael, the heir of prophecy and the promise to Abraham.
Muhammad came from an influential clan of Meccan tribe of Quraish Hashim.Pedigree of Muhammad, Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il, Adnan (son of Ishmael), Mead, Nizar, Mudar, Ilyas, Mudrik, Khuzaymah, Keenan, Nadr, Malik, Fihri, Talib Louvat, Ka'b, Murr, Kilab, Qusay, Abd Manaf, Hashim, Abdulmutallib, Abdullah, Muhammad. It would be strange if the Prophet came from some Chinese or English, but its apparent origin of the branches of Abraham shows the qualitative difference between him and the many false prophets who did not have to do with Abraham.
But Abraham was given the promise of his two sons! The current criticism of Islam do not like to talk about it, but enough to look even at the text of the Bible (Torah), which is now considered to be the inspired and the Jews, and Christians:
"And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham [My servant] I want to do! From Abraham surely become a great and strong, and blessed in him all the nations of the earth, because I know him so that he command his children and his household after him to walk through the Lord, to do justice and the court, that the LORD may bring upon Abraham [all ], which is said of him "(Genesis 18:17-19).
The promise God gave Abraham both his sons, not one! Yes, God made a covenant then, when Abraham's life, only with Yitzhak (Isaac), we do not deny that for centuries it acted Testament, and from the descendants of Isaac was a lot of the holy prophets of God. However, the righteous Jacob has predicted that by his covenant with Isaac line ends:
"And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, and I tell you that which shall befall you in days to come ... Judas! You praise your brothers. Your hand on the neck of thine enemies bow down to thee the sons of your father ... scepter shall not depart from Judah, from his loins, until Shiloh come, and his obedience of the nations "(Genesis 49:10).
The new Act will bring reconciliation with God Mediator of another kind. What? No other options except the offspring of Abraham, in the Bible are not considered "blessed in him all the nations of the earth." So the answer to this question can be sought only in the prophecy of the angel of the two sons of Abraham, ie, another son - Ishmael.
Promise to Abraham regarding his first-born of Ishmael had different meaning and a different character compared to Isaac - there was no covenant with God by Ismail himself, as with Isaac, but was given a promise that his descendants would administer the land, "justice and righteousness," t . is, adopt the law of God to the community and will abide by it and to preach.
We do not insist on their interpretations of the Torah, knowing that Jews and Christians have their own interpretation, not based on the text itself, but on third-party sources - legends sages, saints, etc., while Christians believe that Jesus Christ proclaimed the end of the Covenant God of Isaac and his descendants, and that he himself is the one predicted by the righteous Jacob (Jakub) Mediator. However, we read that, according to the Torah, the mediator can not be a descendant of Isaac - Jacob - Judah (Jesus and their offspring), and that Mediator submitted to the people (and rejected Jesus and his own people).
We see in the text of the Torah is clearly stated God's promise to Abraham that from the descendants of Ishmael, too, must occur restore the law of God on earth, and therefore should be the appropriate messenger of God, who will receive from Him the authority to degrade and to approve this law. No one among the descendants of Ishmael, who could lay claim to this mission and to its practical implementation in real history, but Muhammad was not. Therefore, the belief in Muhammad as the Messenger of God, His Prophet, reasonable, justified, and also the text of the Bible and logically fits into the history of Abrahamic monotheism.
2. Muhammad preached belief in one God. God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, that continuity in the chain of prophets after Abraham.
3. Muhammad did not deny the past (biblical) prophecy. Alternatively, you can find a number of signs that say it is rather in favor of Muhammad.
It should be noted that Muslims are not looking in the Bible supports their belief in Muhammad, for this they have an undoubted sign that God was accompanied by the mission of Muhammad - a wonderful Quran. For the Bible Muslims turn in his controversy with critics of Islam in so far as they base their assertion that the Bible supposedly eliminates the possibility of joining in the person of Muhammad a true prophet, who is completing a chain of prophets of Abrahamic monotheism. We prove them: no, not rule! Prove the converse will not, because the opponents of their interpretation of the Bible, but that does not rule out - this is obvious.
Here is an example:
The prophet Malachi, God says, "Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me, and suddenly come to his temple my lord, you are looking for, and the Messenger of the Covenant, whom ye delight in: behold he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts. And who can endure the day of his coming, and who shall stand when he appeareth? Because he - like a refiner's fire and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they sacrifice to the Lord in truth. Then, LORD be pleasant offering of Judah and Jerusalem, as in days of old and as in former years "(3:1-4).
Christians believe that this prediction of the coming of Jesus Christ. However, the text of Malachi speaks of the messenger, who will return to original purity religion and replace the old law of the new (in the sense of the words "Messenger of the Covenant"). It says that the coming envoy calls strong socio-political upheavals that it will be victorious - not only in spiritual but also in the material plane, which was neither with John the Baptist or Jesus, who was sentenced to death.
We can not say that the text of Malachi is the indisputable proof of Muhammad's mission was, but there is nothing that would contradict this interpretation, but all the signs indicated in the text are the same.
4. As a result of Muhammad was founded a new civilization of monotheism - the kingdom of God on earth. He is the only man in history who gave the world all that is necessary for such ambitious undertakings. If the Gospels Jesus only prayed to God: "Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as in heaven" (Matthew 6:9-13), when Muhammad is actually executed.
5. Tremendous success and timing of the formation, propagation and strengthening of the whole of this civilization. Before that the Arabs have failed to give the world nothing grand. And suddenly they are for some forty or fifty years gave the world a new type of culture. This great success could not happen without divine intervention.
6. After beginning his prophecy of a great number of people from different cultures and peoples from paganism and refused to believe in one God, the Creator. Before Muhammad's monotheistic ideas did not become the property of many people.Muslims are also able to extend the faith among the peoples of Asia, Africa and Europe, unenlightened.
Thus, the arguments of reason can not prove faith nor any prophet, but the faith in every prophet should not be in conflict with reason. Rational arguments should ideally reinforce the faith, to show its external validity and internal consistency. The belief in Muhammad as a prophet and messenger of the Lord of the worlds corresponds to the logic of reason, logic and meaning of the preceding scriptures of monotheism, the meaning of the prophecies of the last Messenger of God.
